Seventh Real IRA suspect arrested by British police

British police investigating a bombing campaign in England have arrested a seventh person on suspicion of being a member of the dissident Republican group, the Real IRA.

The 25-year-old man was arrested yesterday by anti-terrorist officers from Scotland Yard who have been carrying out searches at a disused pig farm near Leeds.

The farm in West Ardley is believed to have been used by the republican group as a base for their bombing campaign and its discovery had already led to the arrests of six other suspected republicans last Thursday.

Bomb disposal experts carried out a series of controlled explosions at the farm after local residents had to be evacuated from the area.
