McCreevy announces €27bn spend

Minister for Finance Charlie McCreevy has said the Government will spend a total of just over €27bn next year.

The figure is contained in the Book of Estimates, which were unveiled earlier today as a prelude to the 2002 Budget which is due in three weeks time.
