The tricolour has been lowered at Camp Shamrock in the Lebanon this morning, ending 23 years of Irish peacekeeping in the region.

The Minister for Defence, Michael Smith, watched as a guard of honour of 150 Irish and 150 Ghanaian soldiers assembled ahead of the formal handing over ceremony.
