Cork man critical after stabbing incident
A Cork man remains in a critical condition after being stabbed in the city centre in the early hours of today. The man, in his early thirties, was in a critical condition after being stabbed on Leitrim St on Cork’s northside around 3am.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.
Meanwhile, the Cork Fire Brigade retrieved the body of another man from the River Lee last night.
Three males were rescued and taken to the South Infirmary Hospital where doctors pronounced one man dead.
The name of the deceased will not be released until all family have been informed.
