Lindsay hears evidence from final witness

The evidence from the last witness in the Lindsay Tribunal had to be read in court today because he was too ill to attend.

The witness who is known as 'James', 26, was born with haemophilia and contracted hepatitis C at the age of 10. 'James's' brother who also has haemophilia has contracted HIV.

It was revealed that 'James' now faces a year of rehabilitation with injections into his stomach. He knows from previous experience that a year of pain, hair loss and mood swings now face him and his family, adding that his parents' lives have been destroyed due to his and his brother's condition.

The evidence comes following the announcement of the death of another hepatitis C victim, the 78th to lose the battle against contaminated blood products. The two year tribunal will end next week.
