Infected haemophiliacs may get inquiry
Senior Counsel, Paul Gardiner has been appointed by the Minister of Health to investigate the role of US pharmaceutical companies in the infection of Irish haemophiliacs.
Mr Gardiner will travel to the United States where he will examine documents relating to the pharmaceutical companies. He will also meet lawyers from the Irish Haemophilia Society to take their submissions into account.
Mr Gardiner will then report back to Micheal Martin who will decide if a stare inquiry will be necessary.
