New NI police service historic - Reid

The Northern Ireland secretary has said he wants the widest possible support for the new police service in the North, which came into effect last weekend.

At a meeting with leaders of the opposition and the Foreign Affairs Minister, Brian Cowen, Dr John Reid said that the new police board was a huge step forward.
