Alliance Party move aids Trimble bid

The way has been cleared to reinstate David Trimble as First Minister of the Stormont Assembly by Monday.

The Alliance Party has agreed to allow several of its members to reclassify as unionists, in order that their votes in his favour will take his support over the 50% mark.
