Woman hit by train in Dublin

A woman has died after being struck by a train in Sandymount in south Dublin last night.

The woman was hit by a south-bound DART train near the Serpentine Avenue crossing.

The emergency services were quickly on the scene but attempts to revive the victim failed. Gardai are withholding her name until all next-of-kin are informed.
