A woman was unhurt after a pipe bomb exploded in the back of a house in a Catholic area of north Belfast last night.

A woman was unhurt after a pipe bomb exploded in the back of a house in a Catholic area of north Belfast last night.

The RUC said the woman suffered cuts to her arms following the blast at Newington St but did not require hospital treatment.

It is believed that the device was thrown from an alleyway which joins the loyalist Tigers Bay area.
