Soldier shoots man in Tyrone bar

The man who surrended himself to the RUC after the murder of a 27-year-old Catholic man in Co Tyrone last night is a soldier.

The dead man has been named as Colin Foy, 27, from Fivemiletown.

The incident happened when the soldier walked into a bar in the town and shot Mr Foy dead from close range.

Initially the RUC said they did not believe the motive for the attack was sectarian but are now saying it is a possibility.

Sinn Fein MP for the area, Michelle Gildernew believes the murder was sectarian.

The soldier is a member of the Royal Irish Regiment.

Meanwhile two men are being questioned about the murder of a man in Craigavon in Co Armagh.

It is thought 19-year-old Peter McNally may have been the victim of a dispute between criminals.
