Support shown for decommissioning by IRA grassroots
The decommissioning of IRA weapons appears to have moved even closer than ever this morning.
It comes amidst reports that supporters of the provisional IRA have given their leadership the signal to commence the process of putting arms beyond use.
Senior republican figures are believed to have been travelling around the country to gauge the opinions on the grassroots level.
A final decision will rest with the seven-man ruling IRA army council, who are expected to hold a meeting this weekend.
