Union representatives from Aer Lingus have still not received confirmation from the company about its plans to lay off more than 3,000 workers in an effort to save the ailing airline.

So far, Aer Lingus management has confirmed that it plans to shed 2,500 permanent jobs and 700 part-time jobs but unions fear these figures could rise.
