Ahern's 'inaction' on Sellafield issue comes under attack

The new leader of the Green Party, Trevor Sargeant, has accused Taoiseach Bertie Ahern of ‘lacking creditability’ in relation to the Sellafield issue.

The new leader of the Green Party, Trevor Sargeant, has accused Taoiseach Bertie Ahern of ‘lacking creditability’ in relation to the Sellafield issue.

Deputy Sergeant said that Mr Ahern’s involvement with the nuclear power plant was filled with ‘inaction and broken promises’ and he challenged the government to immediately release funds for legal research and costs in order to allow a court case to be taken against the controversial plant.
