ASTI to delay giving directive
The ASTI has announced that it will delay issuing a directive to its members on the issue of voluntary supervision and substitution and instead it will seek a better deal for its members.
The union says that it will be issuing a directive to its 17,500 members on the withdrawal of voluntary supervision and substitution by November 5.
The Central Executive Council announced earlier today that it is committed to obtaining a salary increase for its members and will continue to lobby for the increase in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, second-level teachers will decide themselves whether or not to continue carrying out the voluntary work.
