Cowen "regrets" end to loyalist ceasefires

The Minister for Foreign Affairs Brian Cowen says he very much regrets that the Northern Secretary has been forced to declare the loyalist ceasefires over.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs Brian Cowen says he very much regrets that the Northern Secretary has been forced to declare the loyalist ceasefires over.

In a statement, Mr Cowen said that John Reid took this course of action with great reluctance and based on a detailed assessment of the ceasefires, provided by the RUC Chief Constable.
