Trimble motion to exclude SF defeated

David Trimble's bid to oust Sinn Fein from government in the North was tonight rejected by the Stormont Assembly.

The Ulster Unionist leader had tabled a motion calling for the republican party's ministers to be excluded from the power-sharing executive over the IRA's failure to disarm.
