Carlow crash kills woman

A woman has been killed in a road traffic accident which happened shortly before 11.30am at Arles, on the main Carlow-Portlaoise road.

The accident involved a lorry and a car.

It's understood the car had gone down an embankment following impact.

Two units of Carlow Fire Brigade assisted ambulance crews in the operation.
