Taoiseach rejects criticism of health services

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has rejected suggestions that the health services in Ireland are in a mess.

Mr Ahern was responding to comments made by Fine Gael leader Michael Noonan, who said the health services are in a worse state now than they were when the current coalition took power in 1997.
