Ireland takes UN Security Council chair at challenging time

Foreign Affairs Minister Brian Cowen has met with UN secretary-general Kofi Annan on the day Ireland takes the chair of the UN Security Council.

Following the meeting, Mr Cowen said Ireland took the chair at a very challenging time.
