The Northern Secretary, Dr John Reid, is expected to announce that he will suspend devolving the Northern Assembly at Stormont Castle in order to allow for further talks between the parties.

The Northern Secretary, Dr John Reid, is expected to announce that he will suspend devolving the Northern Assembly at Stormont Castle in order to allow for further talks between the parties.

It is believed that Dr Reid will order a token return to direct rule under the British Government before returning power back to the Stormont institution, allowing six extra weeks of talks to resolve concerns over decommissioning.
