Loyalists threaten escalation of school protest

Loyalists are threatening to step up their protest outside a Catholic primary school in north Belfast after eight loyalists were arrested.

They are accusing the RUC of dealing unfairly with protestors near the Holy Cross school in Ardoyne.

Six men have been charged with public order offences and are due in court tomorrow.

Earlier, protestors from the loyalist Glenbryn estate shouted abuse and blew whistles as the children - some as young as four - and their parents and they walked to school.

The protest is now entering its fourth week.
