Loyalists resume Ardoyne protest
Residents of the loyalist Glenbryn estate in north Belfast have resumed their protest against Catholic children walking to school through the Protestant estate.
Crowds of protestors stood silently this morning and turned their backs as the children were escorted to school by armed riot police.
The protestors then waved Ulster flags, blew whistles and air horns and shouted abuse as the parents returned back down the road.
Following today’s protest, PUP Assembly member Billy Hutchinson called for an immediate start to talks to bring an end to the dispute.
