Aer Lingus still not sure
US Federal Aviation Authority officials are to allow air travel in America to resume at 4pm Irish time today.
However, travellers are being told to expect slower operations and tight security.
The American Transportation Secretary, Norman Mineta, said airports and flights would be resumed on a case by case basis, and only after stringent security measures are in place.
Aer Lingus said it has not yet made any firm decision on its transatlantic flights but is closely monitoring the situation.
