First Irish victims of terrorist attack are named

The names of the Irish mother and daughter who died, when their plane was hijacked and crashed into one of the World Trade Centre towers have been released.

The names of the Irish mother and daughter who died, when their plane was hijacked and crashed into one of the World Trade Centre towers have been released.

The victims are Ruth McCourt, aged 45, and her four-year-old daughter Juliana, who were originally from Co Cork.

Ms McCourt's brother Ronnie Clifford was attending a meeting in the World Trade Centre when the hijacked plane crashed. He was not injured.
