Govt asked to let asylum seekers work

The Conference of Religious in Ireland has called on the Government to give asylum seekers the right to work within six months of their arrival in Ireland.

The organisation said the current cabinet has failed to provide political leadership on the asylum issue and accused the Government of hiding behind claims that it has honoured all its international obligations.
