Raonaid Murray killer 'will strike again'

Experts from the Central Mental Hospital have warned Gardai that the man who murdered Dublin teenager Raonaid Murray two years ago will strike again.

According to reports, the experts have told Gardai that the killer is most likely a young man obsessed with female domination and violence.

They said that the lack of action to apprehend him will encourage him to kill again.

Gardai reportedly have a definite suspect for the killing and senior detectives have said the man is psychotic.

Ms Murray’s family used the second anniversary of her death last Tuesday to renew their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

The 17-year-old was stabbed to death as she took a shortcut home to her house in Glenageary, Co Dublin in August 1999.

To date, Gardai have interviewed 8,500 people in connection with the murder and have taken 3,000 statements.

Despite a reward of £150,000, they have been unable to find enough evidence to bring charges against anyone.
