An RUC officer was injured today in an explosion as Catholic children made their way to school in the face of a third day of loyalist protest in north Belfast.

An RUC officer was injured today in an explosion as Catholic children made their way to school in the face of a third day of loyalist protest in north Belfast.

The blast, thought to have been caused by a blast bomb, left the officer lying hurt and a police dog bleeding.
