Crew lifted to safety after fire on Irish trawler

Five crew members have been airlifted to safety after their trawler, the Fiona Patricia, caught fire off the south coast.

Five crew members have been airlifted to safety after their trawler, the Fiona Patricia, caught fire off the south coast.

The naval vessels, LE Ciara and LE Niamh are battling the blaze.

They were on a training exercise off the Cork coast when the alert came through.

There are no reports of injuries.
