RUC officer injured in bomb blast

It is reported that a blast has occurred in Glenbryn Parade in Belfast where protestors have gathered to block the local Catholic childrens’ route to school.

An RUC officer has been injured. Colleagues rushed to the officer’s aid as he lay on the ground near the source of the explosion.

Meanwhile, most of the Holy Cross National School pupils have reached the school safely, although some were forced to turn back as the mob turned on them for the second day running.
