The Labour Party spokesperson on Enterprise, Trade and Employment has

called for a price freeze to prevent consumers being ripped off when the Euro is introduced.

Pat Rabitte says there is growing evidence that prices are already being rounded up and the consumer is losing out.

He says recent price rises by PMPA/AXA Insurance, the VHI and cable television providers ntl are prime examples.

Mr Rabitte says a six month price freeze should be implemented immediately.
