Arrests expected in Crowley case

Gardai are set to make arrests as part of their investigation into the abduction that ended with Christopher Crowley killing his daughter Deirdre and then himself in Clonmel last Thursday.

It is understood a woman has already been interviewed and it is thought that at least two people could be arrested for allegedly helping Crowley during his 20 months on the run.

Detectives are understood to have access to phone records which are helping

them identify those who helped the 44-year-old former school teacher.

It is understood one woman has already been interviewed and a file is being

prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

At the weekend garda sources were quoted as saying Crowley had invented a

phantom persona which investigators believe he could not have done on his

own.

Anyone who aided and abetted him could face up to 10 years in prison.
