The six-year-old girl who was abducted and shot dead by her father in Co Tipperary earlier this week is being buried today.

Christopher Crowley shot his daughter Deirdre and then turned the gun on himself.

The killings happened shortly after gardai made enquiries at the Clonmel house.

The little girl had not been seen since her abduction from her Cork home more than 20 months ago.

Senior gardai are continuing an inquiry into how the case ended.

They are warning that anyone found to have helped Crowley disappear with his daughter would face criminal prosecution.

Deirdre will be buried in Kiskeam cemetery in North Cork after requiem Mass at 2.30pm.
