Woman hurt in Belfast abduction bid

Police were today investigating the attempted abduction of a woman in north Belfast.

She managed to escape after a struggle but sustained a broken nose in the attack.

The attempted abduction occurred around 2.30am in Alliance Avenue at the junction with Berwick Road.

A red car pulled up alongside the victim and two rear seat passengers attempted to pull her inside.

During a struggle the woman bit one of her assailants on the finger and scratched his neck.

The RUC said the injured attacker was described as being in his late twenties, 5ft 8ins tall, fat, had a shaven head and was wearing a red t-shirt and dark jeans.
