UUP assemblyman calls for Police Board sign-up
A UUP assemblyman has called on his party to join the North's new police board.
Duncan Shipley Dalton, an Ulster Unionist in South Antrim, was speaking at a meeting of the UUP assembly party at Stormont this afternoon.
The party has not yet decided if it will co-operate with the new board, which the SDLP has already endorsed. It is unlikely that a final decision will be made at today's meeting.
The UUP officer board meets tomorrow and a meeting of its executive takes place on Saturday.
Mr Shipley Dalton said the courage of the SDLP should be matched by his party to ensure the centre ground was represented on the Police Board.
