Fine Gael lose top PR man

The former editor of The Irish Examiner, Brian Looney, has resigned his position as Fine Gael's communications director - barely two months after joining the party as a key advisor to Michael Noonan.

Mr Looney confirmed last night his sudden departure and said it was a "personal decision".
