US officials contact SF over Colombia arrests

American officials have “been in touch” with Sinn Fein over the arrests of three alleged IRA men in Colombia, it emerged today.

The State Department in Washington said it was “following closely” the arrests of three men, who are suspected of having trained left-wing guerrillas in terrorist techniques.
