Labour seeks landfill study

The Labour Party has called for a study of Irish landfill sites to ascertain if they pose any risk to public health.

A similar study published in Britain yesterday found that people born close to these sites are more susceptible to birth defects, but it failed to find evidence that the dumps were the cause of the defects.
