A 24-year-old man has been stabbed to death in Limerick, the second person to die in violent circumstances in the city in three days.

The man died in the Mid-Western Regional Hospital after he was stabbed in the upper body in the Pineview Gardens area of Moyross shortly after 1am.

A 45-year-old man also died in hospital last night from head injuries he received in a suspected assault in the city centre on Friday night.

A third man, also in his 40s, is still in hospital after receiving serious head injuries in another suspected attack outside Roxboro shopping centre on Saturday evening.
