Lucky escape for ten boaters

Ten boat-trippers had a lucky escape this evening when their boat hit a rock and sank outside Baltimore in West Cork.

The ten people on board, including a baby, were rescued at the mouth of Baltimore harbour as they returned from a day trip to Cape Clear Island.

All ten, who were wearing life jackets, were picked up by two small boats that were sailing nearby.
