Suspension of the North's Assembly appears inevitable today following the refusal of UUP leader David Trimble to endorse the two Governments' peace proposals before actual IRA decommissioning takes place.

Mr Trimble said that he had twice gone into government with republicans in the expectation that they would begin to disarm and both times they had let him down.
