Government advisor bill reaches £5m

Taxpayers have paid over £5m to fund the special advisors appointed to help Government ministers since the coalition came into power.

However, it is reported that the bill remains short of the £6m that advisors to the Rainbow coalition cost over a two-and-a-half year period.
