Significant public response to canal body appeal

Detectives investigating the murder of a man whose body was found in the Royal Canal two weeks ago have reported a substantial public response to the publication of a photograph of the dead man yesterday.

The decision to publish the photograph was an unusual one and points to the Gardai's inability to solve the case.
