SDLP, RUC to hold talks about sectarian attacks
A senior SDLP delegation is to hold a meeting with the RUC Chief Constable, Ronnie Flanagan, this afternoon in relation to an upsurge in sectarian attacks.
Last night's murder of a Protestant teenager by loyalist paramilitaries outside a GAA club in north Belfast has followed a series of pipe bomb attacks on Catholic families.
The SDLP has expressed concerns about the UDA ceasefire after they appear to have launched an orchestrated and systematic campaign against Catholics.
The party feels these attacks have highlighted concerns about what they say is a lack of police protection for innocent families.
