EC planning to halt Irish road carnage

The European Commission has intervened in an attempt to lower the number of accidents and fatalities on Ireland's roads.

The past week saw the death toll from road accidents so far this year climb to 219 and the EC has now decided that urgent action is needed to halt this carnage.
