Two more victims of Monaghan car crash die

The mother and son who have been on life support machines since the fatal road accident that they were involved in last Tuesday, have died.

The pair were involved in a car crash in Monaghan in which three others were also killed.

The mother and her son struggled to stay alive with the aid of life support machines and they eventually died this afternoon.

Catherine Curtis and her nine-year-old son, Wayne, were from Co Meath and were travelling through the area on their way to a family holiday in Co Donegal when the tragedy occurred.

Their car collided with a milk tanker at the notorious black spot near Monaghan town, called Swans Cross.

The crash killed three other members of the extended family instantly.
