FF politician: Snap up Big Bro Brian

A parliamentary supporter of Fianna Fail today urged RTE to snap up Big Brother favourite Brian Dowling.

Sean O’Fearghail, who is a member of the Senate, said: "Brian should be signed up for a flagship programme and given a much-deserved chance."

The senator, a representative for Brian’s home county, Kildare, added: "He is a bright new natural talent. He has spent weeks on live television and has more real TV experience than most.

"Win or lose this weekend, he should be signed up. RTE has a small number of stars who are trotted out on every occasion for every opportunity.

"I would say to the station’s bosses 'give new talent a chance'."

Mr O’Fearghail said state-backed RTE had a record of letting stars like Graham Norton to slip through their fingers, declaring: "Now is the time for them to snap up this opportunity."

The politician spoke out as bookies rated Brian the odds-on favourite to win Big Brother. They also offered evens on Brian leaving his job as a flight attendant with Ryanair and going into TV full time.

Meanwhile, members of Brian’s family left Rathangan, Co Kildare, today to be in at the Channel 4 show’s climax.
