Crash victim gets record damages pay-out

A 28-year-old Co Monaghan man who was confined to a wheelchair after a road accident more than seven years ago has been awarded record damages of more than £2.75m.

The High Court awarded the damages against Monaghan County Council for negligence in causing the accident.
