Cloverhill protest ends

A roof-top protest by three inmates at Dublin's Cloverhill Prison has ended peacefully following negotiations between the protesters and prison staff.

The three men are understood to have used a hacksaw blade to escape from their cells before climbing onto the roof earlier this morning.

The men were protesting over visiting rights and particularly plans to erect glass screens between them and their visitors.

It is understood no concessions were made.
