Schizophrenia Ireland is currently lobbying to have questions relating to mental illness removed from job application forms.

As part of its National Awareness Day, the organisation has called for job applicants to be interviewed about their ability to work and nothing else.

Schizophrenia Ireland director John Saunders said it can be very distressing for people suffering from mental illness if fellow workers know about their diagnosis.
